What is EPH? • AHS Environmental Public Health ensures that the legislative requirements under the Public Health Act are being maintained in public facilities • Mitigate associated health risks in services provided to the public • Routine inspections, demand inspections, outbreak investigations and consultations • Various program areas

  3. Public Facilities Inspected by EPH • Food Services (restaurants, cafes, caterers, food trucks, farmers markets, etc.) • Personal Services (salons, tattoo & piercing studios, etc.) • Social Care Facilities (child care, adult care, etc.) • Recreational Water (pools, spray parks, etc.) • Housing Premises (rental properties)

  4. Procedures for Flood Recovery • Contact Environmental Public Health • Health inspection or consultation required for: • Water infiltration (overland, sewer backup) • Requirements for remediation available at booth and at www.albertahealthservices.ca/eph.asp • Health inspection may be required prior to opening • May need to submit samples

  5. Resources • Many resources available to • Home owners • Rental properties (inspection upon request) • Businesses not inspected by EPH • General public
