  2. There is no participation fee for the event. Each Entry must be approved by respective director/principal or competent authority. Participant must carry valid I-Card. Kindly send your team according to schedule. Schedule will not be changed to accommodate participation. At the most two teachers can accompany their college contingent and contingent in-charge will be responsible for discipline. Reporting Time: 9 am Only students, currently on rolls, are allowed. Outsiders, professionals/former students/employees are not allowed. Nobody else except participants allowed at venue of competition. Any act of indiscipline or misbehaviour will lead to disqualification of the participant(s) or full contingent, as the case may be. Any presentation against social/professional decorum will lead to disqualification. CT institutes will provide refreshment and lunch to teacher(s) in-charge. However, many eatables will be additionally available on payment for participants. No TA/DA will be paid to any participant or teacher(s). CT institutes reserve the right to cancel any event without any prior notice. CT institutes may retain all physical creations. The decision of the judges will be final and binding in all events. Rules can be changed, if judges desire so. No dispute will be entertained in this regard. GUIDELINES Last Date of Registration: 10 OCTOBER 2013

RANGOLI • Maximum three entries (2 members in each team) from each institution are allowed. • Theme: COLOURS OF LIFE • Maximum size is 30x30 inches will be made available for preparing Rangoli. • Only Dry material is allowed. • Participants have to bring their own material (Pulses, Saw Dust, Colors, Pebbles, Flowers etc.) • Time allowed is 2 hours. • No accompanist is allowed.

  4. ESSAY WRITING • Maximum Three individual entries from each institution. • Theme will be provided on the spot. • The participants can use any of the two languages i.e. (English or Punjabi). • Duration will not be more than one hour.

  5. POSTER MAKING • Each institution may be represented by maximum three individual entries. • Theme will be provided on the spot. • Participants will bring their own material (standard size chart (56 x 36 sq. cm.), pencils, rubbers, boards, colors etc.) • Maximum time allowed is two hours.

  6. QUIZ • One team per institution comprising three participants each is allowed. Each team will submit its own one word name/title. • There will be different rounds viz. Politics, Sports, Business & Economics, Current Affairs, India & Indian Culture, Nature And Science, Personality Identification Or As The Quiz Master Decides. • There will be maximum 4 finalists. Screening will be done through written prelims. • More rules will be displayed on the spot.

  7. CARTOONING • Maximum Three individual entries from each institution. • Theme will be Politics and nation. • Participants will bring their own chart, pencils, rubbers, boards etc. • Maximum time allowed is 90 minutes.

  8. MEHNDI • Maximum three entries (two students per team including accompanying student is allowed whose one hand will be used for applying Mehndi) per institution are allowed • Use of tattoos/stencils /templates/readymade designs, booklet is prohibited. • Participants will have to bring their own material like mehndi etc. • Time allowed is 90 minutes. • Theme will be given on the spot.

  9. FACE PAINTING • Maximum Three teams of 2 students each including one accompanying student whose face is to be painted per institution are allowed. • Theme has to be decided by the participants. • Participants will bring their own material like colors and brushes. • Time allowed is 90 minutes.

  10. Two teams of 3-5 members each per institution are allowed. The theme is “Watch that keeps a watch on you”. Time allowed is 2-5 minutes. Props are allowed. AD MAD SHOW

  11. VIDEO DOCUMENTARY Theme is “Mankind & Destruction of nature”. The student will come prepared with and submit a video shoot on the given theme. Time allowed is 3-5 minutes. The team will be of maximum 2 students for each documentary. Only one team per institution can participate. The student(s) will have to narrate/speak alongwith the video using mike. Language can be English/Hindi/ Punjabi for narration.

  12. WHAT’S YOUR STORY A visual image will be shown. The students will be asked to develop a story on the basis of the image. e.g. a soldier wounded in battle field The judgement will on the basis of thinking style, command on language, idea expression, creativity. The participant can write story in any language (English, Punjabi or Hindi). The story must mention the decision to solve the problem with justification. Maximum 3 students per institution.

  13. BUSINESS PLAN • Think of any hypothetical product (e.g. Water driven bike, pen with memory chip) • Suggest a brand name and justify. • Define target customers with justification. • Price and justification of suitability • Any slogan for sales promotion with reason • Where you will sell it & why • One team of maximum 2 students per institution.

  14. CASE BASED GROUP DISCUSSION • A case study will be given for reading for 30 minutes. • A group discussion will be held on the basis of the case study. • The judgment will be on the basis of ideas, sense of team spirit, command on language, behaviour and contribution in solution etc. • Maximum 3 students per institution. • Language: English, Punjabi or Hindi (English will be given higher weightage) • Time allowed for presentation is 7-8 minutes.

  15. CODE DEBUGGING • Only one team is allowed from a College/Institute with maximum 2 participants per team. • The languages used will be C, C++. • Bugs may be of any type. • Time allotted will be 1 hour.

  16. PROGRAMMING IN C/C++ • There shall be 3 participants per institution • The languages used will be C/C++. • Time allotted will be half an hour. • The participants will be given any programme to test the Programming in ‘C/C++’ skills.

  17. POWER POINT PRESENTATION • Use of Power Point Presentation is must. • Main theme for presentation will be “Dreams of Indians”. However,the student is free to choose any sub-theme relevant to main theme. • Time allowed is 5-7 minutes. • The participant can present the topic in any language (English, Punjabi or Hindi). • The participant would bring his /her own Soft Copy of presentation in Virus free CD and in Pen Drive in MS-Office 2003/2007 version. CT Institutions will provide facilities of LCD & Laptop. • Participants will be judged on the basis of content, design of PPT, way of presentation and confidence. Students have an option of using the paper along with the presentation. • Only 2 participants from an institution are allowed. However, judgement will be for individual presentation.

  18. FLOWER ARRANGEMENT • Three individual entries per institution are allowed. • Time allowed is 90 minutes. • It should be theme based as decided by participants. • Participants will bring their own material. • The flowers should be fully fresh or fully artificial.

  19. JUST-2-MIN • Only two students per institution is allowed in extempore. • Topic will be given on the spot which will be very general nature. • Participant is expected to speak on the topic for 2 minutes, warning bell will be sounded after one & half minutes. If time exceeds 2 minutes, participant will be disqualified. • Participant can speak in any language. • Participant will be judged on fluency, creativity of ideas and continuity in speech. • Prelims will be conducted (if necessary)
