  3. What? Pick any subject and answer: Why? What? When? Who? How?

  4. How? Preparations: Write speaking cards, but avoid full sentences Know your subject well, that way it will be easier to speak freely without notes Practice at home in front of a mirror and check the time If you want, you can use technical support like, for example, a power point presentation Imagine the worst thing that could happen and ask yourself if that will matter in 6 months Remember: the others are probably just as nervous as you are

  5. Presentation While giving the presentation: Remember to breathe Speak slowly and clearly The task is to speak English, not read. If you forget something, skip that part and just continue with the next Do not curse or use other inappropriate language While listening: Be attentive! Do not disturb the speaker! They are going to listen to you too!

  6. Examples of subjects: One of the best/worst films you have ever seen. Why this film? What is the film about? When was it made and where? Describe the characters Who? (the actors, the director) Describe your favourite scene Finish by recommending or warn about the film An actor/author/artist Why have you chosen this person? What has he/she starred in/produced/created? Biography A trip you’ve made Where? Why? With whom? What did you do, see, eat, find, like etc. Compare with Swedish ways, nature, food, architecture etc.
