College Placement Program • Over 250 former Lonestar players on current college rosters, many on significant Soccer & Academic Scholarships • 2009 class included 75+ players moving on to play in college • Lonestar hosts 2 college showcase tournaments each year in Austin with over 100 coaches attending annually • Lonestar also organizes dozens of college coaches visits to Austin throughout the year • Because of our success on the field, our teams get invited to the top college showcase tournaments around the country

Lonestar Soccer Club • Factors to consider: • Choose the right school: Academic Match, location, size, social activities – Initial list of 20 – 30 schools. • Choose the right soccer program: Ability level, roster size and graduation, system and style of play, coaches philosophy. • Useful website: http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/adv_typeofschool.jsp

  7. Lonestar Soccer Club • Marketing and Promoting: • Prepare Resume • Prepare Letter of Introduction • Send letters of interest informing coach of playing schedules: tournaments, training times, league matches. • Visits to School • College Soccer Camps • Follow up – Perseverance!!!!!!!

Lonestar Soccer Club • Role of the Key People: • Coach: Advise, promote, make calls to coaches before major tournaments, monitor interest with college coaches in players: Tracking Sheet team; Tracking sheet club • Parents: Support and guide. • Player: Take responsibility, maintain high GPA, get the highest SAT and ACT score you can, communicate timely and effectively.
