  2. LEED for Homes LEED for Homes A LEED-certified home is designed and constructed in accordance with the rigorous guidelines of the LEED for Homes green building certification program. LEED for Homes is a consensus-developed, third party-verified, voluntary rating system which promotes the design and construction of high-performance green homes.

  3. LEED for Homes LEED for Homes Rating System Project Checklist Note: Project can adjust credit requirements based on the square footage of the project. LEED for Homes is the only rating system that allows this.

  4. LEED for Homes LEED for Homes Certification Program Washington, DC LEED for Homes is a voluntary rating system that promotes the design and construction of high-performance green homes, including affordable housing, mass-production homes, custom designs, stand-alone single-family homes, duplexes and townhouses, suburban and urban apartments and condominiums and lofts in historic buildings.

  7. LEED for Homes Health LEED-certified homes are designed to maximize fresh air indoors and minimize exposure to airborne toxins and pollutants.

  8. LEED for Homes Savings They’re designed to save costly resources – energy and water. On average, LEED-certified homes use 20 to 30% less – with some homes reporting up to 60% less energy use – than a home built to code. Using fewer resources means lower utility bills each month.

  9. LEED for Homes Trusted They’re third party inspected, performance-tested, and certified to perform better than a conventional home.

  10. LEED for Homes Value Green homes can be built for the same cost as conventional homes. And they’re resold for more money in less time than traditional homes. Making this happen for your project just takes proper planning.

  11. LEED for Homes How it works Residential projects are special. That’s why we created a unique LEED rating system just for the this market. Here’s what projects using LEED for Homes or Multifamily Midrise need to know about their LEED project:

  12. LEED for Homes Registration Choosing a LEED for Homes Verification Team is step one. Before you register, make sure to check this one off your to-do list. The Verification Team will conduct a preliminary rating early in the design process. They’ll walk your project team through all the prerequisites and explain the minimum number of points you’ll need to certify. They’ll also keep track of all your LEED strategies to make applying for certification a breeze.

  13. LEED for Homes Your Verification Team will include a LEED for Homes Provider organization and a Green Rater who work together on your verification and certification. A Green Rater provides the required onsite verification while the Provider organization oversees the certification process.

  14. LEED for Homes Credit Documentation You won’t be using LEED Online for certification. That’s right; certification is handled 100% by the Verification Team. On-site performance testing and third party verification is required. Your Verification Team will help.
