  2. RT12 Financial Situation • Books for RT12 in Berkeley almost closed (missing CD shipping costs) • Surplus of only ~$300 (0.2% of $160k instead of 15%) • This is the first time for RT (RT07 had ~27% return) • What is the reason and what can we do to prevent this in the future? Savannah, GA

  3. RT12 Visa Problem • Established ratio attendants / abstract submissions of 1.1 • Got 198 abstracts, expected 220 attendants • 212 registered people (1.07) • 187 paying people, partly due to “visa problem” 1.1 SARS Savannah, GA

Lessons learned • Be aware of Chinese visa problem • Many Chinese attendants have more than one presentation (can affect the “1.1 rule”) • IEEE conference services are great, but cause a substantial expense, especially for small conferencesRT14: Services will be done in-kind by Osaka University staff/students Savannah, GA
