Who is MSCF? • A nonprofit organization developed by an employee FOR the employee with a desire to give back! • Unique giving program that doesn’t ask for out-of-pocket donations • Organization that connects companies with those that need assistance with medical equipment, supplies, and consumables • Program designed with the employee in mind…a giving program made simple but meaningful

3. Who is MSCF? • We have a pending 501 (c) 3 status • Your company donates on your behalf based on unused funds from the employee participated healthcare program • Your contribution is only what is leftover after meeting your family’s needs first • Your company manages the process

4. How it all started… Founded in July 2012 Renee Strickland Trimble 1962 – 2012 Diagnosed with long term illness 1980’s Long term disability 2011 -2012 Hospice care Jan 2012 – March 2012 Kind, Caring, Giving…. A final legacy of giving back. Renee with the President and VP of Charter Builders where she worked for over 10 years as a devoted employee and cherished friend to many.

5. How it works… • If you participate in the FSA (Flexible Spending Account) at work and do not use all of the money at the end of the year, the money goes back to your employer. • Your company has partnered with MedSupply Charitable Fund as part of a corporate giving campaign to donate those leftover funds to help others in the community that need medical supplies and consumables.

7. MSCF’s mission? Your employer donates unused funds that make it possible to provide: Medical equipment, supplies, consumables, and non-prescription medications to those in need.

8. Who benefits from MSCF? • Your leftover funds have a direct impact on YOUR community! Making a difference through: • Local community • International community • Renee Strickland Memorial Fund for Hospice and Palliative Care • Company specific designation

9. Laying groundwork (2012) • Formation • Fundraising, program development, capacity building, etc… • Planning financial sustainability • Develop an efficient volunteer corps in order to minimize costs and build allegiances.   • Design a scalable program to promote giving • Leverage resources. • Develop collaborative partnerships with highly credible organizations that provide healthcare.  • Measure recipient satisfaction to guide process improvements and evaluate impact.  • Develop strong and lasting partnerships with corporations and other donors

Launching a dream (2013) • Funding Goals • Identify organizations where funds are needed to purchase medical equipment and supplies for individuals. • Increase the geographical diversity of recipient organizations to serve a global community. • Evaluate fund requests and meet needs according to priorities and funding opportunities. • Respond to opportunities • Accept and award funds annually • Brand Awareness • MedSupply Charitable Fund does not conduct fundraising events, but instead choose to devote our attention to our Corporate Partnership Programs. We do, however, accept donations raised through events that benefit MedSupply Charitable Fund.

12. Leaving a legacy (2014 and beyond) • Annual (Perpetual) Giving – Donations to the organization on an annual basis • Development Major Donors – contribute at least one gift of $500 or more to the organization on an annual basis. • Corporate Sponsorships – Involvement on a personal level with employees and their companies • Grants – Apply to foundations and other institutions that offer start-up or capacity building funds. • Events – Corporate and individual fundraising events and drives • Other giving programs – Bequests, memorials, etc…

Budgetary Commitment • Our commitment to you: • Keep operational costs within 20% of the overall revenue. • Private donor support for upstart • Good stewardship of resources = mindful spending • Donate 80% of proceeds • Availability of funds means meeting critical needs for recipients • Sustainability means ongoing resources available to recipients

Why we do it…FACTS: • Not everyone has access to hospice and long-term care. • Have we made progress in caring for the dying? • $109/day is average cost in lost wages and benefits to care for a loved one with a chronic illness. • The aging of the population is expected to triple long-term care expenditures by 2040. • Many will face serious problems attaining needed health and long-term care services in the future.

We all succeed by empowering other organizations and individuals without the means to provide basic medical supplies • We know you work hard for your money…we will work hard to make sure that any leftover funds are spent wherever the greatest need • Funding other organizations that are tightly aligned with your goals and mission is our purpose • YOU are the reason we exist! 16. FAQ… • As an employee, can I designate where my leftover funds go? The leftover funds from employee FSA accounts are returned to the employer who must designate where the funds are donated. • Can I claim a tax deductible donation on my taxes? Employees do not receive a tax deductible donation for unused funds returned to their employer. • Can I access funds directly for friends, neighbors or others in need? Donated funds are not available to individuals directly. MedSupply Charitable Fund makes determinations as to the distribution of the organization’s funds based on careful investigation of the potential recipient and how the contribution will further MSCF’s mission. • Can I contribute if I elect not to participate in the FSA program through work? Yes, your employer must pay income tax on the unused funds that are returned back to the company.
