  2. Ask a Question • During this lab we planted a sunflower seed, then used either acid rain or regular water to see if the seed would grow over a 6 day period. • What we wanted to find out during this lab is that we wanted to know what effect acid rain has on plants.

  3. Control vs. variable State your hypothesis • My group was a experimental group • My hypothesis was that since we fed the seed with acid rain that the seed and the dirt would both disintegrate and be destroyed.

  4. Data

  5. Data interpretation • What happened during this experiment was that nothing happened. What could have affected this was that the seed could have been a bad seed, which means no matter what the seed wont grow. When we first weighed the seed it weighed about 20 grams less once we put the acid rain into it because aid rain is heavier because of the vinegar. During this experiment nothing else at all happened except that it was heavier afterwards.

  6. State your conclusion • My hypothesis that I stated was incorrect because nothing happened the acid rain didn’t even ruin the seed. Nothing happened though because the seed we used was a bad seed. • From this experiment I learned that sunflower seeds can still grow with acid rain, but if you keep feeding the plant acid rain then the plant will die. • If I use this experiment in the future then I would alter how pretty much all the seeds in the class room were bad seeds, so none of them really grew.
