The future tense • The future tense are actions that are going to happen.When to use futur: *après que (after), aussitôt que (as soon as), dès que (as soon as), espérer que (to hopethat), lorsque (when), quand (when), une fois que (once). • Common expressions usedwith futur: demain, bientôt, le mois prochain, apres-demain, dimanche prochaine, l’été prochain, dans deux jours, le semaine prochaine, un de ces jours l’annee prochaine. • Futur endings: • Je -ai Nous -ons • Tu -as Vous -ez • Il/elle -a Ils/Elles -ont • Ex: Je mangerai le gateau quand je suisavide. • I will eat cake when I am hungry.

Futur of Regular ER verbs • When conjugating er verbs, keep the verb and add the correct futur ending that goes with subject. • Par Example: • Je couperai Je mangerai • TucouperasTumangeras • Il coupera Elle mangera • Nous couperons Nous mangerons • VouscouperezVousmangerez • IlscouperontEllesmangeront

  4. Futur of regular IR verbs • When conjugating ir verbs, keep the verb and the correct ending that goes with subject.   6. Furture tense of irregular • There is only one set of endings for all verbs, and most of them use their infinitive as the root. There are only about two dozen irregular verbs which have irregular future stems but take the same endings. Here are some common ones: acheter > achèter- acquérir> acquerr- appeler> appeller- aller > ir- avoir> aur- devoir > devr- envoyer > enverr- essayer > essaier- être> ser- faire > fer- falloir> faudr- pleuvoir> pleuvr- pouvoir > pourr- savoir > saur- valoir> vaudr- venir> viendr- voir> verr- vouloir> voudr-

  7. The conditional • The conditional is used to express what would take place if it were not for other circumstances. The conditional is also used to make a polite request. • Conditional imperfect endings: • Je -ais Nous -ions • Tu-aisVous -iez • Il -aitIls -aient • Par example: • Je voudraisaller au lit, maisj’ai devoirs. • Nous aimerions présenter des excuses, s’il vous plait .
