  2. The Kit-Bot • This is where many team’s begin and it’s a great place…TO START • What do you get with the Kit-Bot • A base frame • Wheels • Motors • Single speed gearbox • Power train (belts/chains) • A basic rolling chassis

  3. Kit-Bot on Steroids • Check Simbotics for their presentation and resources (FRC 1114) • Simple changes first • Add 2 more CIM motors to drive train • Chain all 6 wheels together • Add base plate to stiffen chassis • Replace 8” wheels with 6” traction wheels

  4. More Dramatic Changes • Re-gear so that top speed is more game relevant • Replace single speed gearboxes with 2 speed transmissions

  5. Going Beyond • Strategy starts with the game • How can you score points with your driving base? • Are the high potential offences susceptible to defense? • Is there a smaller facet that you can focus on? • How can you design an evolving robot?
