  2. The four major directions are north, south, east, west and are known as the Cardinal Directions. • Write down a way you can remember these directions: Never Eat Soggy Waffles! Cardinal Directions

  3. Along with the Cardinal Directions, there are also four Intermediate Directions. These directions are in between the major directions. • The names of these in between directions are made by combining the names of the Cardinal Directions they are between. • This means that the four Intermediate Directions are northwest, northeast, southeast, and southwest. Intermediate Directions

  4. When all the directions are put together (like the diagram on the right) on a map or globe it is known as a Compass Rose. • Using a compass “Can You Find Home?”
