  19. Careful reading To solve difficult points

  20. Language Points 1. My first impression of Mrs Li was that she was nervous and shy. one’s (first) impression of 某人对……的(最初)印象 leave / make an impression on 给某人留下深刻印象

  21. 2. I’ve always hated making mistakes or pronouncing a word incorrectly when I speak English, but Mrs Li just smiles, so that you don’t feel completely stupid!

He is always complaining about something. He was always asking for money. He is always helping others.

She is very careful, so that she seldom makes a mistake. Nothing more was heard from him so that we began to wonder if he was dead.

All is not gold that glitters. =Not all that glitters is gold. Everybody wouldn’t like it.=Not everybody would like it.

  25. 3. She’s very strict—we don’t dare to say a word unless she asks us to. We don’t dare to say a word if she doesn’t ask us to.

  26. 4. …because her teaching is so well organized and clear. …… 如: a highly organized person 一个很有条理的人 a well-organized office 工作效率高的办事处

  28. 5. ... this is one class you don’t fall asleep in. …… This is one class. In the class you don’t fall asleep.

The old church _______________________ Tom. 2. He doesn’t know _________ about it. made a deep impression on everything

I won’t apologize _____ she apologizes first. 4. Bring it closer ______ I may see it better. 5. If I _________ at the wheel, wake me up. unless so that fall asleep
