What are Beadlets? • Beadletsaredefined as small, free flowing, spherical or semi-spherical solid, • size ranges from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm, and intended usually for oral administration, • They are manufactured by the agglomerates of fine powders or granules of bulk drugs and excipients using appropriate processing equipment. • Beadlets can be prepared by many methods, Agitation, compaction, layering, globulation & other new techniques.

  2. ADVANTAGES : Improved aesthetic appearance of products and also ease marketing. Beadlets are spherical in shape and have greater flow properties. Beadlets can be blended to deliver incompatible bio active ingredients. Beadlets can be used to provide different release profiles at the same or different sites in Gastro Intestinal Tract. It improves appearance with wide coloration properties. Beadlets can give immediate, extended and as well as controlled release of the targeted ingredient. Beadlets can be used in dry as well as liquid applications. Pellets disperse freely in GI tract,maximizes drug absorption and minimize local irritation of the mucosa by certain irritant drugs.
