    3. Mission Rehearsal tool that provides a cockpit display prediction of a target scene “Through the sensor” scene predictions using Weather forecasts & time of day inputs What is IRTSS? Warfighters try to optimize several variables when planning an attack. Integrating ALL the information on tools that the planners already use will improve their effectiveness TAWS: Target Acquisition Weapons Software - the name changed from Weather to Weapons Determines performance predictions for PGMs & Target Acquisition Systems Entire Spectrum (TV, NVG, Laser, IR) - includes NVG mission, replaces NOWS Jul/Aug 02 Calculates detection ranges & lock-on ranges for multiple sensors / targets Interfaces with Portable Flight Planning System (PFPS) - reads Combat Flight Planning Software (CFPS) route server; overlays detection ranges onto FalconView (PFPS map server) “Reachback” to weather models thru AFWA & Navy Will be able to edit some target (paint &dimensions) in TAWS 3.1 Proves to be a critical tool used at OEF / OSW / ONW TAWS V3.1 Jul/Aug 02 delivered to weapons officers thru MPSSF IRTSS: Infrared Target Scene Simulation - similar to “Skyview” & “Powerscene” Mission Rehearsal Tool - based on entire IR scene Pre-processed geo-imagery database, target & sensor parameters, reads TAWS Weather forecast Interfaces with CFPS route server Generates PowerPoint views Currently Installed at Nellis AFB (Feb 02) - in the Red Flag Building and at 140 FW at Buckley AFB (Oct 01) (for operational feedback) 8FW/CC seeking funds to install IRTSS at Kunsan AB, Korea - was briefed to Gen Jumper Al Jabar requesting IRTSS capability ASAP At Mission Planners Users Conference (MPUC) (Jan 02) - Maj Gen Leaf (AF/XOR) - stated IRTSS “best thing he saw at MPUC” Briefed to Lt Gen Wald and his staff (AF/XO in Mar 02) Meetings with 480th Intel Group to determine a process to obtain multi-spectral imagery and process imagery to “categorize” into material properties Warfighters try to optimize several variables when planning an attack.
