  4. Westminster Abbey • the tombs of the English kings and queens • since 1066 all English kings and queens have been crowned here

  5. The Housesof Parliament • the political centre of the UK • the House of Commons • the House of Lords • discussions and laws • Big Ben

  6. Big Ben • the bell inside the clock tower • a part of the buildings of the Houses of Parliament • near Westminster Bridge

  7. St Paul’s Cathedral • one of the most beautiful and famous churches • Whispering Gallery • Sir Christopher Wren • rebuilt after the Great Fire of London in 1666

  8. The Tower of London • it was built in the 11th century • the Crown Jewels • a collection of arms and armour • a fortress, a prison and a place of execution • many people lost the heads here
