Cardiff University Information Services • Health Library Review Implementation • New build at the University of Wales Hospital site: the Cochrane Building • New Library at Llandough (with RFID) • Systematic Review Network funded by 5 health Schools • Discussions with IHC about RFID for AWHILES • Consortial purchasing of journals??

  8. Cochrane Building construction details Building (c. 6000sq m) due for completion July 2011 by Vinci. Library (c. 2000 sq m) due to move in July/August 2011 Students arrive September 2011 (!) Total cost M£18.5 Will meet BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, so will be naturally ventilated where possible

  9. Library On three floors Ground floor: Social Learning Lounge First floor: Books, print journals, study tables, PCs plus 2 IT training rooms. Over the atrium bridge to staff offices for Library, IT and Media Resources Second floor: Quiet study spaces; 10 group study rooms Designed to be open 24/7, with full self-service
