  6. Areas of Interest • Reading: Especially nonfiction • Movies: Love Turner Classics • Exercise: Ex Marathoner and Triathlete now confined to walking and hiking • Travel • Writing

  8. STARS Outcomes 2010 Enrollment: avg increase of 4%; avg efficiency of 570 Retention and Success:DEMC committee goal (identify the most successful intervention strategies for student retention) Collaboration: all GAP work from last year including re-organization

  9. STARS Outcomes Continued Accreditation: reaffirmation Budget reduction: met the direction of the district Revenue: hospitality facility renovation for increased revenue in the upcoming two years STARS outcomes will be summarized and vetted through GAP for formal documentation and review

Fall 2010 Start Up • Budget • Reductions were completed and sent to the district: CBAC will be reviewing • Appears to be federal ARRA funds that will come to the district/Mission College % will be allocated and this has categorical flexibility to be spent directly on students and student services

  13. Budget Continued 3. One time monies rollover due to funded projects not being completed or initiated: have asked Vice President Negash to work with CBAC on tenets for one time monies expenditures and for an institutional timeline for expenditure review: We Need to Spend our Money! 4. Rollover dollars to go back to Instruction and Student Services

  14. Fall 2010 Start Up Continued Safety/Security: Currently working with Security on best practices that can be disseminated to the Safety/Facilities Committee for review and dissemination to the campus Emergency Response Plan currently under discussion with the district

Determine areas of consensus and summarize them to the college, district and where appropriate the community 2. Determine presidential goals and submit to the college for input

  18. Today to Tomorrow We have laid the foundation, now we must set the plans to build…. In the Silicon Valley our future is today – as stewards of the citizens of the future we must be ready for tomorrow or what Emily Dickinson calls “Dwelling in Possibility” As a Learning Institution our strengths must be utilized collaboratively As we plan for tomorrow: understand and respect our history, provide plans that address the data of today and the trends of tomorrow, enjoy the process of building together
