  27. Ozone Dry deposition velocity - Methodology “Reference state”: 25th June 2001 - Hour 12.00 UTC Comparisons concerning: - Different models: CAMx, MOCAGE 1, AZUR, CHIMERE 1, RAMS-CHIMIE 1/2 - Different hours: 0.00, 6.00, 12.00, 18.00 UTC - Different IOP: IOP2a, IOP2b (IOP1,IOP3) Guido Pirovano - CESI

  28. O3 dry deposition velocity - Models approach All considered models implement a “resistance approach” (Wesely) Resistances are functions mainly of: - Turbulence intensity - Land use features Guido Pirovano - CESI

  29. Vdep O3 - 25 June 2001 H 12.00 MOCAGE CAMx R-CHIMIE 1/2 Guido Pirovano - CESI

  37. Conclusions • J clearly depends on hour and height, but to a lesser extent on IOP and horizontal coordinate (except for MOCAGE) • Models usually have shown a coherent behaviour, more for JNO2 than JO3 • O3 concentrations are not directly linked to J values • Models have highlighted a range of variability of 12% to 25% for both rates • Vdep is function of both time and space (turbulence and Land use) • Models estimations have shown a quite coherent behaviour • Range of variability among models spans from 25% to 50% (for the maximum value over the domain) Guido Pirovano - CESI
