  4. Spiritual Life is Available to All (Ephesians 2:1) • Obtained through the gospel, 2 Cor. 3:6 (Jno. 6:63); Rom. 1:16 • The Spirit gives life (via NT) – 2 Cor. 3:6 (Jno. 6:63, 68) • Can be forfeited, 1 Cor. 9:27; 10:12 • Make calling & election sure – 2 Pet. 1:10-11

  5. Eternal Life is Promised to the Faithful (Titus 1:2) • Defined: Eternal glory, honor, immortality, peace – Rom. 2:7, 10, 8-9 • In the heavens – 2 Cor. 5:1-4 • In the age to come – Mk. 10:30 (Lk. 18:30) • Ready to be revealed in the last time – 1 Pet. 1:5

Eternal Life is Promised to the Faithful (Titus 1:2) • Must “lay hold” of eternal life • Do not actually have it yet (Phil. 3:12-14) • “Take possession of, to attain, to seize upon” – 1 Tim. 6:12, 19 • By diligent faithfulness – 2 Pet. 1:10-11; Jas. 1:12 • By keeping the commands of God – Matt. 19:17

Eternal Life is Promised to the Faithful (Titus 1:2) • We “have” eternal life, 1 Jno. 5:11-13(potentially) • Have a sure hope – Titus 3:7; Rom. 8:24-25 • Have it in promise – 1 Jno. 2:25 (Matt. 19:29; 25:34, 46) • Have it by faith – Jno. 3:14-16 (6:54, 68; 10:27-28) • Purpose & result of faith,Rom. 6: 22-23; 1 Pet. 1:9; Jude 21
