  1. Brendon McCullum Reveals Both India & New Zealand Deserve To Play The WTC Final Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has added that both India and New Zealand deserve to play the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship final that is scheduled to begin at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on June 18 as well. And he also hoped that the final is going to be a closely fought affair too. Image source by twitter “Two of the best teams on the form have reached the final,” Brendon McCullum told India Today on eSalaamCricket. “I think 60-40 in favour of New Zealand. It’s going to be close. The match practice that New Zealand are going to have leading into the final could just title it in their way. I think it’s going to be close.” “Just as New Zealand respects India, as a fan, I will respect India, knowing how good they are and the fighting spirit they have. I think we are in for a ripping World Test Championship final. May the best team win and the best game,” Brendon McCullum further added. Meanwhile, New Zealand have been in good form considering their current form as they convincingly beat England by 1-0 recently following the first Test ended in a draw in Lord’s. On the other hand, India didn’t have any practice series prior to the much-awaited World Test Championship final as well. But New Zealand speedster Tim Southee is aware that the Indian team has a strong batting lineup including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and the pace bowler said that they will have to be their best to beat India as well.

But I know as a bowling group that it’s a dangerous batting lineup throughout. For he’s only one of many, many very good batters in this lineup and we know we’re gonna have to be on top of our game. It’s an exciting batting lineup, a mix of experienced guys and a couple of young guys who are coming to play with that freedom and the excitement that that they have. Nowadays, there’s plenty of footage out. So, we will discuss footage and then come up with plans which will hopefully work,” Tim Southee concluded.
