  1. Aakash Chopra shares his concern over Team India’s safety after seeing Krunal Pandya tested positive Former India cricketer turned famous commentator, as well as cricket analyst, Aakash Chopra has shared his concerns regarding the upcoming India-England series which will be played in a soft bio-bubble after the India all-rounder Krunal Pandya has been tested COVID-19 positive in Sri Lanka despite having stayed in a strict bubble. Image source by twitter Soon after Krunal Pandya’s news came into the limelight, the second T20I of between the two nations – India and Sri Lanka got postponed by a day. And, the match was took place on Wednesday, July 28 as well. While talking about that, Chopra has opened up on this matter on his official YouTube channel. He said: “Krunal Pandya tested positive despite being in a strict bio-bubble. That makes me think what is happening in England. Crowds are attending The Hundred and interacting with each other. Even amid COVID positive cases in the country, the festival is carrying on. Crowds are likely to attend the India-England Test matches as well and it is being said that there won’t be a strict bio-bubble but only a soft one. I do understand that COVID has taken a toll on everyone. But if COVID can breach a strict bio-bubble, I don’t even want to think what can happen in a soft bubble.” He further added: “How was the bio-secure bubble breached? Matches are being played behind closed doors. No players are going out, it is a very tight tournament. Players are staying at the designated hotel. They are using the same bus to travel to the ground and they are staying in the same dressing how. Then how did this virus breach the bio-bubble? And if it has, Krunal might not be alone, as we have seen in the IPL, when multiple cases later came to the fore.”

  2. However, the all-rounder Krunal Pandya has now been staying in self-isolation and he has to stay there for 7 days. While he won’t be allowed to board the flight until he gets fully recovered, the team will return home on July 30 as well after the conclusion of the T20I series on July 29 as well. While the visitors have won the first match, the hosts sealed the deal in the second. It will be interesting to see who will win the series as well.
