Past Profile • Motivated by “Pleasure or / and Money”! • Often unqualified for anything else – sold insurance, cars or houses… • Housing boom saw influx of under-qualified, inexperienced “candidates” • Registered at the EAAB as a candidate and after a year, became a Full Status Agent! OR • Wrote the EAAB “Board Exam” – (multiple choice of 18 credits) – became a Full Status Agent

Candidate Profile In terms of access, the target group comprises: • under-qualified adult candidates, with some level of professional training but no formal qualifications to recognise workplace learning • Some with formal qualifications (exemptions) • candidates lacking L4 Fundamentals in some or all of the 56 credits • 1st language L4 • 2nd language L3 • Numeracy L4

Highly experienced with specialist knowledge and industry exposure through training with franchisor, banks, bond originators, etc.: • Finance • Legal • Marketing 6. Process Alternatives • Equivalence based on Equivalence Matrix compiled by EAAB (Dept of Labour) and SSETA (Dept of Education) • Exemption against the qualification(s) based on formal qualifications from formal education • RPL Exemption Portfolio of relevant qualifications and evidence or relevant experience • RPL – experience, but no relevant qualifications: • partial exemptions through skills programmes (short course) • partial exemptions through matric certificate (all or some fundamentals) (56 cr) • Partial exemption through Fidelity Fund Certificate (18Cr)

  29. Learnerships In Recognition’s Learnership Project Plan consists of 3 Study Units 30% structured learning takes place in class by In Recognition (SSETA bursary or Self fund) 70% on-the-job training takes place in the workplace under the guidance of a Mentor

Work Readiness for Learnerships ALL Credit Bearing Training:- • Principal Training for Host Employers (essential to champion and grow business) • Sales Coach Training for Mandatory ‘Mentor’ • Either Principal • Agent of 3 years with L4 qualification • Project Management training for Learnerships • Link between Employer, Learner, Provider, SSETA

Principal Preparation • As a Principal you are responsible for driving growth through quality agents and sales • Champion recruitment and selection to ensure quality agents through learnerships • Prepare your work environment for learnerships • Select effective Coach / Mentors • Manage growth and learnership implementation • Principal briefing session – ½ day

Sales Coach/Mentor • Strong emphasis is placed on Mentorship, as the candidate’s success is directly linked to the level and quality of support in the workplace • Every learner MUST have a Mentor to coach and support them through the process • In Recognition is accredited to train Mentors against credit bearing unit standards

  33. Project Management • Companies (size dependent) would benefit from appointing a Project Manager as a liaison between In Tuition and the Company • In Recognition is accredited to train Project Managers against credit bearing unit standards, customised for learnership implementation

THE FETC QUALIFICATION FETC: Real Estate NQF L4, SAQA ID No. 59097 150 Credits = 1500 notional hours Unit standard based qualification: Fundamental - literacy and numeracy = 56 credits Core – compulsory unit standards covering essential embedded knowledge to be an agent = 73 credits Elective - optional, selected unit standards = minimum 21 credits Equivalence matrix provides for exemptions where applicable

Application Process • A Discretionary Grant Application must be made to be awarded Services Seta bursaries by: • Host Employer Company (registered with Services Seta as a levy paying member company thru SARS) • Accredited Training Provider (MNA) • Application will be for • FETC: Real Estate NQF L4, SAQA IF 59097 • unemployed learners • MNA guides and advises employers on this process.

Forum • EAAB & Services Seta have collaborated to form The Property Forum • Industry representatives from various sectors within “property” industry (includes VOASA) • Manage the Regulations & Act concerning industry education and training requirements • Manage the Professional Designate Exam • Manage Continuous Professional Development • National Road Shows to explain

PDE • The EAAB Manages this process in conjunction with Accredited Service Providers who: • Prepare candidates for the PDE • Host the PDE and conduct the assessment • Upload the results to the EAAB • The PDE comprises • knowledge assessment, based on compulsory book • A case study • May use computers, open book, resources • Candidates have 2 years to achieve the PDE • 5 yr FFC holders are Exempt from PDE

CPD • The EAAB Manages this process • Comprises a 3 year cycle of credit accumulation • Credit bearing events publicised by EAAB, • Events held by accredited service providers (MNA) • Some events will be compulsory, e.g. Consumer Protection Act • Other events will be elective • Credits may accumulate towards qualifications / articulation
