  8. What I love about my job Improving services for patients Building teams Seeing people develop Working with committed and motivated people Creating chances for people to succeed Supporting staff to give great care Giving interviews with media Watching buildings go up Talking to people

  9. What I don’t like! A whole day of meetings! Angry patients! Serious errors Unhappy staff Overspent Budgets! Getting it wrong! Negative people Critical media stories

In summary! • Do what interests you • Follow your heart, but think ahead a bit! • Careers in healthcare are rewarding and challenging • There are many options for trained, committed, and enthusiastic people • You will think and feel differently at 50 than 20 • A change of direction can be reinvigorating • Aim to become expert in something, and keep learning • Find a job with a purpose, and enjoy what you do!
