Presidents

  • There are 5 countries which we have to learn whose leader’s title is president.

  • To remember these countries we use the acronym CRUMI


CRUMI Presidents

  • C = China

  • R = Russia

  • U = United States

  • M = Mexico

  • I = India


Current CRUMI Presidents

  • China = Hu Jintao

  • Russia = Demetry Medvedev

  • USA = Barack Obama

  • Mexico = Felipe Calderon

  • India = Pratibha Patil


Former CRUMI Presidents

  • China = Hu Jintao

  • Russia = Vladimir Putin

  • USA = George W. Bush

  • Mexico = Vicente Fox

  • India = Abdul Kalam


Remembering the CRUMI Presidents

  • Use your fingers to say the five countries.

  • Now let’s come up with a phrase to remember the president’s names


Prime Ministers

  • There are 3 countries which we have to learn whose leader’s title is prime minister.

  • To remember these countries we use the acronym UCI (pronounced like Yucky)


UCI Prime Ministers

  • U = United Kingdom

  • C = Canada

  • I = India


Current UCI Prime Ministers

  • U.K. – David Cameron

  • Canada – Stephen Harper

  • India – Manmohan Singh


Remembering the UCI Prime Ministers

  • When David Cameron was playing his Harp and Singing it sounded Yucky!

Dmitry Medvedev - Russia

President of Russia

Began in May 2008


Barack Obama – United States

  • Became the first African American President in the US.

  • Inaugurated in 2009 as the 44th President.


Felipe Calderon - Mexico

Current President of Mexico

Took office December 1, 2006


Pratibha Patil - India

Current President of India

took office in 2007

The first woman to be elected president in India


  • Now let’s take a look at the UCI Prime Ministers.


David Cameron - UK

Current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Assumed office May 10, 2010


Stephen Harper - Canada

Current Prime Minister of Canada

Assumed office

February 6, 2006


Manmohan Singh - India

  • Current Prime Minister of India.

  • Took office in 2004 and re-elected in 2009


What about Vladimir Putin?

  • If he is the Prime Minister of Russia why do we not need to remember him?

  • The truth is we do have to learn him, but in Russia they do not use the term Prime Minister, they call him the Premier.
