  3. Brothers Grimm • Wilhelm (*24.2.1786 Hanau, † 16.12. 1859 Berlin) and Jacob (*4.1.1785 Hanau, †20.9.1863 Berlin) Grimm • German professors who were best known of publishing fairy tales and also linguistics

  4. They both studied law in Marburg 1802/03 • After that they lived together in Kassel; there they wrote their most famous works • They were eternalised on the 1000 DM banknote

  5. Most famous fairy tales: Cinderella, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin Hansel & Gretel Cinderella

  6. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe • German poet, novelist, courtier and natural philosopher • * 28.8.1749 in Frankfurt am Main • Was tought in many languages

  7. Practised law in Frankfurt (1771-1772) and in Wetzlar (1772) at „Reichskammergericht“ • Most famous works: The Sorrows of Young Werther; Faust

  9. Wilhelm Heinrich Riehl • *6.5.1823 in Biebrich am Rhein • German journalist, novellist and folklorist

  10. He graduated at Gymnasium Philippinum Weilburg • He studied theology, philosophy, history and arthistory in Marburg, Gießen, Tübingen and Bonn

  11. He wrote the book „Die Idylle eines Gymnasiums“ • The book is about the everyday life at the school in Weilburg • † 16.11.1897 in Munich
