  3. THE CHANGES MADE DID NOT ALTER THE RULE FROM WHAT WAS INTENDED IN THE 2005 TRACK AND FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY RULES BOOK. THERE WERE EDITORIAL CHANGES MADE THAT MAKES THE RULE READ DIFFERENTLY, BUT THE RULE REMAINS THE SAME AS IT DID IN 2005. THE CHANGES MADE BY THE COMMITTEE WERE IN RESPONSE TO CONCERNS SHARED BY STATE INTERPRETERS AT THE 2005 NFHS INTERPRETERS MEETING.
