  3. Service Description Private Line is the standard by which all other telecommunications networking services are measured • Dedicated, non-switched, point-to-point, high-speed circuits designed for full-duplex, transmission • Built on our award winning All-Optical-Network, Broadwing’s Private Lines are the best performing, offering unparalleled scalability, flexibility and value Services: • Private Line from DS1 to OC192 • Wavelength • Ethernet Private Line • CoreConnectSM and CoreConnect FlexSM • International Private Line

  4. Vital Statistics • Most secure • Lowest latency • Highest QoS and data throughput • Available speeds • Electrical • DS1, DS3 • Optical • OC3, OC12, OC48, OC192 • Four local access options • Broadwing provided • Customer provided • Colocation • Ethernet access

  5. Network Architecture

  6. Digital/Optical Private Line Service Summary: • Dedicated, non-switched, point-to-point, high-speed circuits designed for full-duplex, transmission Service Details: • DS1 to OC192 • Multiple access options • Distance sensitive, flat-rate pricing

  7. Wavelength Service Summary: • An optical, unprotected, SONET Framed, 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps signal with Line, Section and Path overhead transparency • An excellent economic alternative to deploying and/or lighting fiber, wavelengths are much easier to manage and integrate Service Details: • 2 Fiber handoff (1+0, unprotected service) • Customer equipment provides restoration with a second diverse circuit • Distance sensitive, flat-rate pricing

  8. Ethernet Private Line Service Summary: • Ethernet last mile access encapsulated over our All-Optical long-haul network • Simple, scalable, cost effective means to interconnect your WAN Service Details: • Delivered via… • Ethernet Local Loop from Ethernet Local Exchange Carrier (ELEC) • Ethernet “Cross-Connect” if located in same facility as Broadwing • More long-haul speed options than with traditional Private Line • 50Mbps, 100Mbps, 150Mbps, 300Mbps, 600Mbps, 1000Mbps • Long Haul priced as Private Line (distance sensitive, flat rate)

  9. CoreConnect Services Service Summary: • Flexible means for the largest carriers and enterprises to cost effectively purchase incremental bandwidth • Combines the benefits of network ownership • With the advantages of facilities leasing Service Details: • CoreConnect and CoreConnect Flex • Customer Visibility • Capacity Reporting Tool via Broadwing’s Customer Network Management (CNM) Portal • Order Status Tool (DPQS) via CNM Portal • On Line Invoice Presentation via CNM Portal • Alarm Visibility via SNMP Trap Forwarding

  10. CoreConnect - Standard Offering Service Details: • Enables pre-provisioned OC12 (622Mbps) or OC48 (2.5Gbps) Private Line “Ports” in any Broadwing On-net city, with the ability to turn up bandwidth between the ports as required - “pay by the circuit” • Fiber handoff in core port cities (for OC12 and OC48 “port” connections) • DS3 or OC3 “port” connections may be handed off to customer for further muxing, or terminated directly (including loop) by Broadwing • Provisioning interval dramatically reduced when ordering between two pre-provisioned ports - 10 day guarantee

  11. CoreConnect Configuration Options Mesh Hub & Spoke Hybrid (partial mesh) configuration also available

  12. CoreConnect Flex Service Details: • Enables customers to reserve OC12 (622Mbps), OC48 (2.5Gbps) or OC192 (10 Gbps) of aggregate bandwidth at a “bulk rate” and turn up the component DS3/STS bundles as required and where required • Individual DS3/STS bundle circuits available between any pair of Broadwing On-net cities

  13. International Private Line Service Summary: • Turnkey private line service to more than 50 countries around the world • Unique regional partnership approach provides diversity by accessing numerous undersea cable routes, stability by integrating multiple suppliers and economy by maximizing value for multinational customers Service Details: • Flexible speeds • 1.544/2.048 Mbps (DS1/E1) to optical speeds • Two varieties • Full circuit and half circuit services • Single bill and contract for all locations • Comprehensive service level agreement (SLA) • End to end support through Broadwing • Seamlessly combines with MultiConnect to save up to 50%
