  1. Blizzards • The biggest blizzard ever recorded in the USA was called The Great White Death. The Great White Death lasted seven weeks. It began in Wyoming and Colorado. It killed 100 people and 1,000,000 animals. • The USA has a check list of things to do if a blizzard is coming. This is what they have do to: • Fill bathtubs with water just in case the pipes freeze. • Make sure windows and doors are shut and bring anything that was outside inside. • Be sure to stack up on food. • Have batteries for torches and radios. • Did you know that the number one thing that courses death in a blizzard are heart attacks while shovelling snow?

  2. Hail Storms • Hail is a ball of hard irregular ice. • Hail is made of water from the clouds above us. • Thunder storms course hail, Tornadoes also course hail. • Hail is a huge hazard for air crafts. • Hail is one of Canada's most expensive storms. • Hail destroys millions of dollars of crops every year. • Hail forms in clouds called cumulonimbus. • A normal hail stone can reach up to 0.5 kg. • As hail drops to the ground it gains layers and layers of ice.
