Ontario Developmental Services Web PortalHistory • 2004 - Developmental Service Transformation • Consultation with families / service providers suggested a single low cost provincial web portal. • A Developmental Services Information Services Forum, held in February 2008 brought together representatives from DS Agencies, families and MCSS. • The Ontario Developmental Services Web Group is formed. • The Web Group developed a draft framework for the provincial web portal. • Broader consultation to seek input, validate direction, identify partnerships, further develop plan. Ontario Developmental Services Web Portal Today’s Reality • People access most information on-line or through someone using on-line resources • People expect to find current and reliable information easily • People are looking for different types and levels of information and services • People find it hard to navigate through multiple websites to get the information they need • Given that there is currently no funding available for this project, collaboration will be key.
