Lifelong Learning Networks • HEFCE funded partnerships of FE and HE • Developing and supporting progression into and through HE for those kinds of students who might not “normally” progress • Vocational • We are funded to November 2010 currently • 4 universities and 22 partner colleges • Sector specific and cross sector work

In practice? • Curriculum development – Foundation Degrees, CPD • Research into employer and employee current and potential demand • “Bridging” programmes • Raising aspirations + progression opportunities – in liaison with Aimhigher • Professional development for staff – best practice in delivery of HE in FE

In practice? • Events – joint conference with AimhigherMKOB 26th March High Wycombe • Sector Fora – Creative Industries, Health and Social Care, Construction, Land based industries • Mentoring for Progression • Train 2 Gain • 14 – 19 Diplomas • Development of Foundation Degrees • Support for CPD etc…………

IAG in practice? • To be complementary, not get in the way – Nextstep, AACS, Connexions, college and university services • Dissemination of changing routes into HE – Fds, CPD, WBL/WRL • Events, networking, materials – progression maps, case studies • Progression Agreements • Funding for Level 3 Guidance interviews • Guidance Toolkit • SE Learning at Work Information Service – Learning Opportunities for Adults in the workplace www.sussexlearningnetwork.org.uk/learning-opportunities • Emphasis on HE in FE
