  3. WV DUR Board Meeting September 22, 2010 Recent DUR Interventions • Long term use of short acting opioids • 4 doses per day for 90 days • 828 patients identified in May 2010 • 787 patients selected for intervention • 890 prescriber letters generated • 862 letters mailed • 26% response rate

WV DUR Board Meeting September 22, 2010 • Chronic use of opioids and benzodiazepines • 120 days supply of opioid and benzodiazepine in the past 180 days • 7,149 patients met criteria • 467 high risk patients (those with highest number of providers) reviewed • 388 patients selected for intervention (patients with cancer diagnosis not selected) • 687 prescriber letters generated • 677 letters mailed 8-31-10
