  1. Injection sequencer and IQC upgrade LeneDrosdal, DelphineJacquet

  2. New features • Injection sequencer double threading • IQC result state: warning • Better IQC playback • Additional check for circulating bunch config. • Additional check for injected beam if BCT=0 • Transfer line data • (Injection oscillations interlock)

  3. Injection sequencer double threading • Because the IQC analysis sometimes can be very slow we can miss a cycle causing us to waste time on injections • We will now request injections into the same ring independent of the analysis of the other ring • Need thorough testing before start-up (requires SPS cycle/injection conditions) New injection sequencer GUI with separated injection schemes per ring

  4. IQC result state: warning • In many cases the IQC latches are not taken in to account and the IQC is just automatically unlatched without any corrective action • We introduce a new result state in the IQC to warn about a possibly bad injection, but not stop injections • We will start by using this state in case of bad BLMs

  5. Better IQC playback • Playback will now include an option to better select the events to replay • We will also save result data (not only raw data) which will make it possible to run statistics

  6. Additional check for circulating bunch configuration • Last year we had several problems with the wrong configuration causing an error in the IQC • The injection sequencer will now check that the circulating bunch configuration matches the result from the BQMs before injecting • This will also better protect against overinjection

  7. Additional check for injected beam if BCT=0 In case of a bad transfer line BCT we provide some corrections: • If BCT = repeat, BQM = Successful (false zero) Result = unknown • If BCT = masked  result = unknown (could be use in case any device misbehave)

  8. Transfer line data Transfer lines: BLM + BPM data (soon) Other IQC data and improvements to come later..

  9. Injection oscillations interlock • A new interlock will be added for injection oscillations: In case the injection oscillations module fail • only intermediate intensity allowed In case of good injection oscillation result • high intensity injections allowed • This requires thorough testing and stability of the IQC module
