  1. Fundraising Whizz-ard Tips and ideas for fabulous fundraising

  2. Whizz-Kidz provides wheelchairs to young people across the UK, helping them to be more independent, confident, and . There are 70,000 disabled children in the UK waiting for wheelchairs, and here at Whizz-Kidz, we want to do something about that. That’s where you come in. Fundraising doesn’t need to be hard, or take up lots of your time. It can – and should be – fun! So why not give some of our ideas a whizz, and help a kid to be a kid… by being a big one yourself. As if you need an excuse. happy

  3. In the office…

  4. Pssst card Office fundraising is a great way to boost morale and getTeam Whizz-Kidz your colleagues motivated. Working 9-5 Why not add some fundraising It’s all taking (and some giving) in to your working day? We’ve kick-started the fun for you – have a look at some of our handy ideas! ? Calling all

  5. Wine-tasting on a Friday afternoon? I couldn’t poss-Chablis. You could. Gather your colleagues who like a drink – you know the ones – chip in a fiver (to cover the Chardonnay and a bit extra to cover your boozing-at-work conscience by giving to a lovely kids’ charity we can think of) siphon some plastic cups and sit round the kitchen table. Pretend to know what tannins and smoky notes are, and get a bit woozy for the weekend while you’re at it. Challenge the Boss… to make the tea, wash up after lunch, photocopy those 300 brochures you’ve been putting off… the possibilities are endless. Get your team to put £1 and their chosen challenge in to a hat, draw out a few corkers at random, sit back and enjoy. Milk and 2 sugars please. ‘I think therefore I am…going to do something ridiculous for charity.’ Someone somewhere has definitely said that. Pick your favourite quotes, get your colleagues in to teams with a petite admission donation, and laugh at them while they try to decide whether it was Shakespeare or Susan Boyle who said that thing about dreaming a dream. Don’t Quote Me

  6. Sometimes there are no words. Caption your imagination With a caption competition. £1 to enter, the entry that makes you spit your tea out wins a fiver / office notice board notoriety.

  7. Come Dine With Me (in the kitchen) Ingredients: 4 x friends (preferably ones who can cook) 1 x microwave Knives, forks or fingers 1 x fancy certificate on the next page made by Team Whizz-Kidz (…in PowerPoint) Method: Get your apron on and your friends round the office kitchen, and wow them (or not) with your best culinary skills. Get them to give you a score out of 10 for your efforts and pay the amount in pounds in to a kitty. Repeat the whole thing each lunch break for a week so everyone has their turn at being Chef - whoever Whizz Hint! Having the local scores the most points after all 5 rounds wins takeaway on speed dial is aforementioned fancy certificate, and Whizz-Kidz always a good idea. wins aforementioned kitty. Bon appetite!Just in case. You can try this one at home too – swap the microwave for the oven and the water for the wine - et voila!

  8. We, Whizz-Kidz, hereby certify that you, (insert your name here) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am an Official Whizz 2012 are ace and the best Come Dine With Me Whizz we know.

  9. Car Wash We’re not talking bikinis and hose-fights, but whatever floats your Fiat Punto. Set up a team of willing washers and head on down to the office car park at lunch time, sponges and suds at the ready. Charge a fee for your services and lather up! There’s only one rule – the boss has to pay extra. BullBan All those KPIs and PMPs and JPGs give us a RRH TBH (Right Royal Headache – yeah we don’t understand either), and let’s not even get started on blue sky thinking. Ban the bull for a day – and fine anyone who even mentions a thought shower. Office Pub Quiz Q: What’s the perfect way to spend a lunch break? A. Pretend you’re down the Rovers and have a pub quiz to test your knowledge of football teams and the names of Brangelina’s kids. Charge an entry fee, nominate a Quizmaster and get your teams at the ready. Phone-googling under the table strictly forbidden. Tsk. Whizz Hint! Why not try a car wash at a Fun Day too?

  10. Swim the channel (well, 50 lengths of the swimming baths) Give up booze/coffee/ chocolate hobnobs Nominate a colleague to complete challenges over a month in return for money (that they will then painstakingly give to Whizz-Kidz but they’ll feel really good about themselves, we promise). Learn a language (we recommend Swahili) Knit a jumper (or a scarf for a very small person if knitting isn’t their strong point) Bake cakes for the whole office

  11. Pin Up Posers Every office has a budding Mr December, no matter how little he resembles Johnny Depp. Get your best pout ready, find someone with a digital camera, and make a calendar to sell in your office. Catalogue poses optional, comedy costumes mandatory. Shoot me from the left, Mr Bailey.

  12. Damsons in De-stress I AM A MACHINE World domination Productivity of people who get their colleagues to give them shoulder massages at their deskfor a cheeky £1 fee Ooh maybe after lunch Is it the weekend yet? Ah how lovely I am new human being Perhaps I could now run a marathon (for Whizz-Kidz) Reactions of massaged, relaxed people at aforementioned desks being all productive

  13. There’s a Frenchy in every office. Set up an area in a meeting room, charge a pretty penny for painting, plucking and make-overing, and indulge your inner beauty school dropout. Beauty School

  14. Mo-vember anyone? Or Manuary, Moobuary, Moctober… Sponsor your colleagues in a race to see who can grow the most chin fluff. Extra points if they can sprout a moustache Poirot would be proud of. If all else fails, sneakily cut out this handy stick-on ‘tach… NO ONE WILL KNOW.

  15. Slave Auction Get your colleagues to pledge their talents for an afternoon, sold in a heckling contest to the highest bidder. Getting them to dress up in slave outfits for the occasion is always fun. Purely for the cause, obviously. Not at all because Adam in Accounts would look good in a ball and chain.

  16. At home…

  17. Pssst card There are tonnes of ways you can fundraise at home – Your house without even taking your In the middle of your street curlers out (and that goes Your house for the ladies too). We’ve scribbled some ideas for you – now all you need to do is put the kettle on. ? Calling all

  18. Jumble Sale Feng shui your life and raise some spondoolies at the same time – all you need is an old painting table, a garden / drive / front door to prop it in, and your old dvds / toys / clothes. Watch the neighbours flock to have a nosy. Lemonade Stand Everyone loves a good old fashioned lemonade stand. Crush lemons, sugar and ice, pour in to a pitcher, add in plastic cups and the table you used for your jumble sale, set up outside your house and sell a glass for a small fee. You can do the same with homemade ice lollies! Best served on a hot day…

  19. Who Dunnit? Swap Colonel Mustard in the library with the rope for your next door neighbour in the kitchen with the toaster. All you need is a string of pearls and some imagination – or google, where you’ll find endless scenarios and lots of help planning a party to remember. The only thing left to decide is who gets to be Miss Scarlet.

  20. One person’s trash (your old clothes, bags, shoes) is another person’s (your neighbours’, round yours with a cup of tea and a bag of their own old stuff) Take that(nearly new summer dress)and(have a clothes)party treasure. (that pair of shoes they wore once that you coveted could be yours for under a fiver)

  21. Booze it up We know even the title made you reach for the 6-pack in the fridge. You can do it – a week off the sauce, donate what you’d spend. You might even find that orange juice is your new friend. Change it up Transfer all your loose bits of change in to a piggy bank, tot it up at the end of the week and send it in to us! No annoyingly jingling in your pockets – everyone’s a winner. Give it Up It’s not quite Lent, but if you can sacrifice chocolate for 40 days, giving up a little something for Whizz-Kidz for one little week should be a breeze. And we promise you can eat as many Dairy Milks as you like. Price it Up Drop down a price range in the supermarket, add up the difference in what you would have spent. Dale Winton would be proud.

  22. At a fun day…

  25. Space man (or woman) Have a Space Hopper race to the finish line – whoever wins is crowned with the title of Space Hopper Champion 2012. The kids can join in too, if the adults ever stop hogging the Hoppers. Ready, set, erm… go? They lurk in every garden - put them to good use in a snail race! People place their bets on their preferred speed-machine, then sit back, wait…and wait…and wait some more. Whizz-Hint! Snail-racing near the drinks tent is always a good idea to pass the time… Who ate all the pies? You can never go wrong with a good old eating contest. Get creative by swapping the traditional meat and potato for Crème Eggs or spaghetti hoops, and ban use of hands! Napkins and sick buckets optional.

  34. If wishes were balloons… £1 to write a wish on a little square of paper, fold it up and tie it to the end of a balloon string. At the end of the day, let all of the balloons go at the same time, and watch the wishes float up, up and away. Honey to the Bee The spelling bee, that is.
