  2. Jacob loves to play his hand-held video games… he loves even more to make it say one phrase over and over instead of playing the game correctly  He also has absolutely no qualms about gender specific toys, or age appropriate toys…he doesn’t care!

Jakey LOVES getting on the computer… he goes onto the internet and searches for videos that he likes to watch like seseame street, maisy, panda bears… He goes through obsessions like most autistic children… he has been on seseame street, and more specifically cookie monster for a long time now…he has every cookie monster toy/clothing that they’ve made…and he LOVES them all…he is so much fun to give presents too!!

  4. Jacob usually doesn’t interact with other kids, even his siblings and cousins…but if they all love to make him laugh and play with him!

  5. Jacob had a significant speech delay… he still struggles putting his thought into words to communicate with us…he only gets 45 minutes of speech therapy every week at school, even though this is his parents highest concern in his last ARD meeting…

  6. Jacob has a very difficult time sitting still for any length of time… he is usually laying on the ground, jumping in place, or pacing back and forth…

  7. Jacob has a hard time feeling overwhelmed even with just our immediate family because there are so many of us… He usually needs a space for just him to self-stem and relax when we all get together…

  8. Jacob is not the typical autistic child with affection– he is very affectionate with his family  he loves tight hugs and gives kisses all the time!

  9. Don’t underestimate them! Jacob loves to order things—he can make a very long and intricate patterns… he also loves puzzles and can do a very difficult puzzle… he also taught himself to read, even when he couldn’t say many words he already could read, and knew if you were reading the wrong words (he didn’t like that!). Jacob LOVES when you sing songs to him! He asks me to sing him his favorite songs all the time—he also LOVES when you sing them with funny words, or funny voices!!
