  2. Academic Affairs Priorities (2012-13) • Priority 1 - Begin preparations of the NWCCU Year 3 Report • Submitted, M. Redinger arranging virtual team visit with • team chair for 10/16-22/2013 • Priority 1 - Continue Implementation of College!Now • New Statewide TACCK Grant ($1.4M +, meeting 10/17/13) • Priority 1 - Work out Organizational Structures for areas • reporting to Provost • Library approved, IT approved, AIO approved, COE approved • Others to follow by December 2013 • Priority 1 - Finalize Futureu Strategic Plan Done • (All or part of 23 of the 118 actions have been addressed) • Priority 1 - Begin discussion of ASC instructors and courses • ASC Transition Team (August 30th Kick-off, monthly updates) • Priority 1 - Roll out PD funds/CARE grants PD funds made permanent and increased 2% in 2013-14 budget, $55K PD & $23K e-Learning distributed, CARE is out and due 11/1/13

Academic Affairs Priorities (continued) • Priority 1 - Work with Deans on College-related issues • 11 budget investments proposed to EBC - 8 funded • Priority 1 - Work with Academic Senate on issues raised • Gen Ed reduction complete, Course academic home still under • review, “Tuition Plateau” AS proposal – approved, IDC Policy • Priority 1 - Work with FA/VTEM on issues raised • IR and Budget assembling data for an inversion/compression • study, K. Edgerton, M. Pagano, T. Collins traveled to Helena for • MUS strategy meeting on this topic 2-25-13, again on 4-22-13 • Working on these issues in bargaining ($35K distributed, $15K • in 2013-14 and $20K in 2014-15, longevity factor, VTEM issues) • Priority 1 - Academic Affairs Champions Assigned Done, listed • on Futureu Web site, periodic reporting process established • Priority 1 – With IT, establish an e-Learning Office Done • Priority 1 - Work with OCI to establish a Faculty Excellence Award for Community Engagement Done

  5. 2013-14 Provost Priorities • Complete search for e-Learning Director • Establish permanent leadership for Graduate Studies • Receive and respond to feedback on Year 3 NWCCU Report • Institutionalize responsibility, accountability, and reporting structures for the Futureu Strategic Planning initiative • Work with each Provost area to formulate a unit Strategic Plan integrated with the Futureu plan (December 2013 deadline) • Solidify the MSUB Extended Campus concept and prepare draft organizational chart, unit scope and charter, compensation model, LOA templates for all events, and communication plan • Complete first design phase for Life Sciences Building Project Team voted on 10/2/13 to name project: Yellowstone Hall • Review and act on recommendations from ASC Transition Team

  6. 2013-14 Provost Priorities • Initiate and formalize a campus-wide strategy for increasing faculty compensation, including short and long-term strategies (VTEM initiatives ) • Work with AS/UCC/Colleges to review issues associated with the BSLS and determine if we should expand to other colleges • Complete a funding plan for the Futureu Strategic Plan • Formalize the reporting metrics then prepare and communicate a First Year Progress Report on the Futureu Strategic Plan • Work with MSUB Foundation to complete a significant portion of the fundraising project for the new Life Sciences Building • Work with Admin. Services to formalize academic policies and procedures and provide easy access on an appropriate Web site • Support the APC process, carefully consider the results, then move forward deliberately with appropriate actions
