  1. Newsjoiner presentation • Introduction • The following presentation will give a broad introduction to Newsjoiner. It will not replace a proper demonstration.

  2. For media convergens and content sharing • Newsjoiner is designed for journalists and editors. The aim is to control the flow of stories in your newsroom, and in several partner newsrooms, in a simple and time efficient way. • The result is a unique tool for cooperation and content sharing between internal newsrooms and external partners like other stations in your network.

  3. Illustrated tour • Peter and Laura work at a radio & TV station, cooperating with the local newspaper. Peter is a journalist at the newsdesk, Laura is a radio news host. • Martin works as a journalist at a local radio station, affiliated to the same network as Peter and Laura's station.

  4. Illustrated tour • On the phone, Peter gets a tip on a certain type of children's wear, that causes many cases of allergy. He carries out a search in Newsjoiner to see if other stations or news agencies has brought anything on this story. This is not the case. • Peter writes a short radio news story and saves a work-print for TV.

  5. Illustrated tour • Via another story about allergy in the source archives Peter finds the name of a person, who can tell him about a case of allergy, which has made the local authorities demand that the clothes should be testet.

  6. Illustrated tour • Peter adds the new information to Newsjoiner and inserts at the same time that a TV feature with an interview of the source will follow later. A work-print is saved for the newspaper too. Peter and his Crew go off to interview the source.

  7. Illustrated tour • Laura sits in the radio studio and sees Peter's story in NewsJoiner. She decides to broadcast it and exports it to the radio's website.

  8. Illustrated tour • Mark sees the story and decides to make a local issue. He interviews the director of a local textile dyeing company about the riscs of chemicals in clothing. • Afterwards he calls the community physician to arrange an interview about the local conditions.

  9. Illustrated tour • Mark goes off to interview the community physician, produces the feature, writes the script and saves it in Newsjoiner.

  10. Illustrated tour • Peter returns to the newsdesk and finishes his TV story. He registers all information about tape, files, subtitles, sources etc. in NewsJoiner and marks the story for export to the Internet as well. Furthermore he writes a new radio edition and gives Laura a sound clip.

  11. Illustrated tour • At the newspaper they see the story, and, via NewsJoiner, get a quick overview of the follow-ups on radio and TV the same day. They decide to plan a follow-up for the next day.

  12. Illustrated tour • Laura sees Martin's background story and uses it to supplement her own issue on the radio.

  13. Illustrated tour • Peter sees Martin's background story and uses parts of it for his own TV feature.

  19. Details • Newsjoiner • - the AM Production MultiMedia Newsroom System • - for media convergence and content sharing. • The Newsjoiner system is designed from the point of view for journalists and editors. The aim is to control the flow of stories in your newsroom, and in several partner newsrooms, in a simple and time-efficient way. The result is a unique tool for cooperation and content sharing between internal newsrooms and external partners like other stations in your network.

  20. Details • Global viewOverview is provided by a list of stories, telling you which stories are in flow, their status, the media they are intended for, and one click opens the edit window. The list can show stories from your own newsroom only, or from several newsrooms, as well as combinations of media types and newsroom, newswire agencies etc. • Entries show if there are corresponding stories for other media, and one-click opens these stories. Web publishing is integrated, and the system combines radio, television, net and print media. Journalists will be able to write stories, search for archive entries, link stories to name-sources and put entries into the editorial calendar. An option is to force answers to date and purpose follow-up on stories, when the edit window is closed.
