  1. The SunPedal Ride Golden Quadrilateral Awareness With Avis

  2. With an aim of spreading awareness on sustainability, a team of four youngsters is travelling 6000kms on a solar retrofitted auto rickshaw for 60 days.

  3. Travelling along India’s Golden Quadrilateral on a retrofitted solar powered electric auto rickshaw (tuk-tuk) and a support vehicle from Avis.

  4. The SunPedal Route The journey started in Bengaluru on May 25th 2019, and proceed to Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai to finish finally in Bengaluru. Other major cities along the road are - Pune, Surat, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Vizag, Nellore and Vellore.

  5. The SunPedal Ride is a movement to create awareness about solar energy, sustainable mobility, and healthy living. This time we’re spanning a 6000km journey along the Golden Quadrilateral in India in 60 days. The aim is to trigger in area locals and stakeholders, UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to care for a world deeply threatened by climate change.

  6. How Electric Mobility is Clean • ZERO tail-pipe emissions • Lower per-KM cost than petrol rickshaws • Super-low noise pollution • One battery charge = 120 kms

  7. According to a NITI Aayogreport, India can save 64 per cent of passenger road-based mobility-related energy demand and 37 per cent of carbon emissions in 2030 by pursuing a shared, electric and connected mobility strategy.

  8. This would result in a reduction of 156 million tonnes of oil equivalent in diesel and petrol consumption for that year. At $52/barrel of crude, this would imply a net savings of roughly Rs 3.9 lakhcrore (approximately $60 billion) in 2030.

  9. Avis is proud to be a part of the team’s journey to promote electric mobility to create awareness about sustainable energy.
