  1. Establishing Present Levels of Educational Performance (PLEP) for Gifted Students Date: March 25th, 2009 Time: 1:00 – 3:30 Location: The Delaware County Intermediate Unit Registration Fee: $35.00 Program Description Identifying a student’s Present Levels of Educational Performance (PLEP) is both a pivotal first step in designing an appropriate Gifted Individual Education Plan and a necessary component of meeting the requirements of Chapter 16. In this workshop participants will learn approaches to establishing PLEP, discuss issues related to writing the PLEP section of the GIEP document, and examine the links between a student’s Present Levels and the Annual Goals, Short-term Learning Outcomes, and Specially Designed instruction that are the core of the GIEP. Participants will leave this program with information their districts can use to establish assessment protocols, as well as practical steps that can be used immediately when writing GIEPs. Presenter: Linda Block-Love, BS, MSM, MEd
