TIME Collaborative: The District Support Team APPENDIX I In order for schools to effectively redesign their schools, they need the ongoing support of key district personnel to provide content support and address barriers that can often thwart their implementation of expanded learning time. Districts with successful expanded time schools have a support team in place that meets regularly throughout the planning process. Teaching + Learning How does ELT impact how teachers teach and students learn? What additional supports are needed? Accountability Are district accountability systems and testing schedules impacted by ELT? Will ELT schools require additional monitoring and evaluation? Operations How does ELT affect school budgets, transportation schedules, food service, and facilities, such as utilities and custodial support? Student Services How are students receiving specialized supports affected by ELT? Do schools need additional capacity to support students during enrichment classes? Parent + Community Engagement How is a school’s community impacted by ELT? Are there district partnerships that will be affected? Do parents need additional outreach and information about the benefits of ELT? Human Resources How are traditional roles modified to support sustainable staffing models? How does the district support successful partnership integration?
