  4. Functions of an ETQA • Accredit constituent providers • Promote quality amongst providers • Evaluate assessments and facilitate moderation amongst providers • Register constituent assessors for specified standards and qualifications

  5. Functions of an ETQA • Certify learners • Co-operate with moderating bodies appointed by SAQA • Recommend new standards and/or qualifications or modification to existing ones to SAQA • Maintain a database acceptable to SAQA

  6. Criteria for accreditation • Quality Management System • Registration in terms of applicable legislation • Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate learning programmes • Management of assessments including RPL and appeals

  7. Criteria for accreditation • Financial, administrative and physical resources • Staff selection, appraisal and development • Learner entry, guidance and support • Management of off-site practical or work-site components • Reporting procedures

  8. Accreditation Process ISETTSETA ETQA Division: • Receives request/letter of intent • Checks for fit with primary focus • Sends Accreditation documentation THE PROVIDER • Completes the application form • Submits complete application form with required documents

  10. Accreditation Process (cont.) • Conducts site visit/Evaluate the POE and learning programme • Give feedback to the provider • Recommends provider for accreditation to the CEO • Sends letter to confirm accreditation
