  2. What do you think? • In a Man vs. Nature conflict who is most likely to win? Explain using examples from Movies, News Stories etc.

  3. With your partner • Define the following terms and give an example of each. • Rhyme – The use of rhyming words to allow the poem to flow or to emphasize a point. (In this poem the ABSENCE of a rhyme is important…. It is meant to symbolize the randomness and turbulence of the snowstorm that the characters are facing) • Simile – A comparison using like or as. “Her smile was as bright AS the sun” • Metaphor - A comparison that does not use like or as “The road was a ribbon of moonlight” • Personification – Using human characteristics to describe a non-living thing. “The storm raged outside”
