  1. MOTHER’S DAY LESSON “Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her saying: Many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all” (Prov. 31:28-29).

  2. “Is It Going To Be A Mothers Day Lesson?” • With much joy, based on my experience. • With some reservation 1. For some, motherhood is an accident, and not always a welcome one. 2. For some, biological motherhood is impossible. 3. For some, mother weren’t pleasant. 4. For all, motherhood is a strain, and a sleepless one.

  3. Wilhelm Busch: “To become a mother is not so difficult; on the other hand, being a mother is!” • For all its stumbling blocks, pitfalls and broken dreams, for all the soiled diapers, dirty walls and ruined plans; we’re talking about a beautiful plan – God’s creative plan to bring love to life. Motherhood is a constant demand for the gift of caring.

  4. Mothers Live With • Doubt – “I’m not doing a good job.” “I failed.” • Anxiety – Fences and monitors won’t cure this. A late night phone call is every parents dread. • Exhaustion – especially “working” mothers. • Many thrills – sleeping babies, even if they’re 20 and just home from college. • Much hope for the future.

  5. Mothers Deserve: • Respect – Eph. 6:2 (Ex. 20:12) • Obedience – Eph. 6:1; Luke 2:51 • Affection – I Kings 19:20 • Wisdom (us to live a good life) – Luke 2:52 • Spiritual “success” – Prov. 23:24-5 • Care – “requite” – I Tim. 5:4
