  3. Strategy • Develop plans in phase with IEEE Initiative funding cycle • Proposals due to IEEE in April of year before initiative begins • Thus, target having proposals by 4/1/05 • Remainder of 2005 organizing approved activities

Planning Areas • Conference Improvement (Lumelsky) • Conference quality • Guidance for conference organizers • Increasing standardization for paper processing • Wider, evolving participation in organization • Managing conference costs • Educational Directions (Fiorini) • Conference tutorials at $10 for students • Education tracks for students at ICRA • Educational material on the web

  5. Planning Areas • Member Services (Papanikolopouos) • Mentoring young faculty • Mentoring advanced Ph.D. students • Public awareness • Surveys (Hamel) • Plan to make LRPC the home for society surveys • Planning being initiated • Electronic services • Strengthening AdCom awareness
