BASIC QUESTIONS to ask yourself BEFORE setting a test • WHAT to test? • HOW to test? • WHY is the assessment being made? • WHAT should the assessment CONTAIN? • HOW to INTERPRET the results? • WHAT are the CONSEQUENCES for teaching, learningand administration? • WHAT is the QUALITY of the proposed test material? • TO TEST or NOT TO TEST at all?
