Megan’s Law Introduction • The Federal Government is preparing to pass the Megan’s Law Walsh Act expanding the number of qualifying sexual offender charges, providing for stricter and more frequent registration and reporting, mandating that states post additional information on the Internet, and establishing additional community notifications.

  8. Offender must sign in ink beside signature

  9. Miscellaneous • Offenders reporting any changes in address, school, employment, etc., shall be processed as a verification. • Registration site personnel shall accept registration information from any offender who comes in to an approved registration site wishing to register. No offender should be turned away even if they do not reside in , work in, or attend school in the jurisdiction of the Registration Site.

  10. Miscellaneous • If the offender is not sure whether or not he or she has been registered, the Officer can do a Rap Sheet Request through CLEAN. If the offender has been registered, it will be indicated in the CLEAN RS response.

  11. By clicking on the Print Icon from the CPIN Desktop, the Officer is given the opportunity to log onto the Megan’s Law mode, and will be prompted to enter an SID. Upon entering the SID and clicking on <print>, the CPIN printer will print three copies of the most current Sexual Offender Registration or Verification form for that SID.
