  1. Preparing Your Schedule 14-1512th Grade Fill out your schedule sheets right now! Get parent/guardian and teacher’s signatures, then hand them in to guidance as soon as completed! (NO later than December 13)

  2. Required for 12th GradeMinimum of 5 credits English Language Arts – You have several choices, please check the back of your scheduling form. You need 23 credits to graduate, but they need to be in specific areas. Make sure these will be completed: English (CA) – 4 Credits Civics – 1 credit Math – 2 Credits World Studies – 1 credit Physical Science – 1 credit U.S. History – 1 Credit Biology/Life Science – 1 Credit Fine Arts – 1 Credit Phy Ed – 1.5 Credits PFM or Economics – .5 credit Health - .5 credits Electives – 8.5 credits *If you have questions about this, please see your school counselor!

Electives!Think about After High School Two and four year colleges minimumrequirements are more than AASD requirements! • Minimum of 3 years of science and math (Algebra 2 or Adv Algebra) • Two years of World Language are required at some colleges (top universities want more) Fox Valley Technical College recommends you take 3-4 technical courses in high school • FVTC recommends3 years of math, science and S.S. and 2 years of World Language. You can still attend technical colleges without, but you may have remedial classes before starting your program. • Look for FVTC “Advanced Standing” or “Credit” courses

Teacher Signatures! • Talk with your English teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet! • Talk with your Math teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet! • Talk with your Science teacher about what course is best for you – Have them sign your sheet! • Thinking About AP courses, have subject area teacher sign your sheet!

  5. Electives for 12th Grade Many choices at the 12th Grade Level – Be sure to check to see if there is a prerequisite*! Science Course – Check the online course planning guide for many options. Math Course – talk to your math teacher about the best option for you. PFM or Economics is required for graduation Keep in mind a Fine Arts (Art, Music, Theatre, Humanities) credit is needed for graduation Must take a minimum of 5 credits (Take more if you don’t want study halls) If you want a senior privilege, take less than 7 credits. You cannot choose the hour you have privilege. Sign up for senior privilege takes place during August registration. Want to be a Teacher Assistant next year? Sign up – course number is on the back of your sheet

  9. Youth Apprenticeship verses CTE You may be interested in Youth Apprenticeship! If interested, you have to apply! – You don’t just sign up for it. See Mr. Worley, Mrs. Van Camp, or your school counselor if you are interested and need more information. If you are interested in CTE Internship, sign up for both CTE Internship (9664) and CTE Internship Job (9664J) for a total of 1.5 credits

  10. Have Questions? • Next Tuesday during Advisory – EVERY department will share information about courses in the gym. Select 3 or 4 areas you want more information, you will “speed course” in the gym! • Special Situations/ Not sure what to do? – Please make an appointment with your school counselor! • Hand course sheet in ASAP to guidance! Due December 13th.
