Find the measure of the base and altitude of the parallelogram. A = bh 1200 = (3x)(4x) 1200 =12x2 4x 12 12 x2 = 100 3x x2 – 100 = 0 Let 3x = base 4x = height 30 cm 40 cm (x + 10) (x – 10) = 0 (x + 10) = 0 (x – 10) = 0 x = -10 x = 10
