  5. Minimum Wage • £6.19 per hour if you are over 21 • £4.98 per hour if you are 18 to 20 • £3.68 per hour if you are under 18

  6. Most students get their first proper job when they leave university, usually at the age of 22

  7. If a student takes a GAP YEAR it is common for them to work for half the year and travel for the other half.

  8. The most common job is in a shop, but also, waitresses and nannies. • Minimum wage • A student will typically save £4,000 for travelling.

  9. University Fees Student Loan • £3,300 for tuition • £3,000 for living (food, books etc) • £3,300 for rent • In 2012 tuition rose from £3,300 to £9,000
