Materials Needed: paper, pen, Montage notes, instruction sheet, checklist, computer

Agenda:

  • Create PowerPoint presentation using all researched info for Montage project.

    Homework: Read independent reading book.

Warm-up: Get out all materials. When we get to lab, sign on computer and open up your word documents. Wait QUIETLY for your teacher to give further instructions.

  • How do I link blog to another blog?

  • How do I create a post and a draft?

    ELACC8RI1 Cite the textual evidence that most strongly supports an analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

    ELACC8W7 Conduct short research projects to answer a question, drawing on several sources and generating additional related, focused questions that allow for multiple avenues of exploration.

ELACC8W8 Gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources, using search terms effectively; assess the credibility and accuracy of each source; and quote or paraphrase the data and conclusions of others while avoiding plagiarisms and following a standard format for citation.

  • Make sure that you have opened all Word documents opened and have all fact fragment notes out on your desk.

  • Open PowerPoint. Select title slide. Type in title of project (refer to instruction sheet) in top box. Type in your full name and class period in bottom box. TITLE SLIDE IS YOUR FIRST SLIDE. 

  • Watch QUICK OVERVIEW of how to use PowerPoint.

5. 3rd slide = picture of person and pictures of person in movement

6. Other slides must be of the following =

a. Quotes from different songs plus singer who sang them

b. Picture of event at Lincoln Memorial

c. Picture of 1963 March on Washington program

d. 2 groups with 3-5 facts about each one

e. Collage

7. Create a citations page for text and pictures.

  • Select images.

  • Type in 1963 March on Washington program.

  • Select a picture of program.

  • Double click on it to open the page that it is really located on.

  • Save image as 1963 March on Washington program.

  • When you want to insert in PPT, go to Insert, Picture, Select Picture, Open, and it is inserted.
