  1. HAZLEHEAD ACADEMY SQA Assembly 2016 Exam advice and expectations

  2. EXAM ADVICE – 2016 • Study Leave is from Monday 2nd May until Thursday 2nd June inclusive • Examinations begin on Wednesday 4th May • The time at home should be used for revision • You must know where each exam is being held and this is listed on your personal exam timetable • You must know your SQA candidate number as this has to be listed on all of your exam scripts. This is also listed on your personal exam timetable. • You must turn up for your exams 15 minutes before the exam is due to start

  3. If you are more than 30 minutes late you will not be allowed into your exam • You should only take pens, pencils, rulers and any other necessary equipment to your exam desk and must wear school uniform • Other belongings should be kept in lockers or at the front of the exam room • All mobile phones are banned from the Exam Rooms • If you have mistakenly taken your mobile phone to the exam room it should be given to an invigilator who will label the device and pass it to me (Mr Craig). • You can collect the device from the school office once your exam has been completed.

  4. You must remain quiet throughout the exam so that you do not disturb other candidates in the room – failure to do so could lead to you being removed from the exam • You must ensure that you go to the toilet before each examination, as you will not be allowed out during your exam • Pupils must not leave the exam room until told to do so by the invigilator. You will not be allowed out of your examination early. • Should you miss an exam for any reason you should contact the school office as soon as possible. A medical note, or letter of explanation, should be handed to the office within two days of your missed examination so that class materials and assessments can be passed to the SQA • If you come to school to study outside the time of your exams you should sign in/out at the office and be in full school uniform

  5. If you are staying on for Fifth or Sixth Year you should return to school on Friday 3rd June for your Senior Induction Day. (Apart from those pupils sitting Mandarin or Higher PE who have an examination on Friday 3rd June.) • On Monday 6th of June all new S5 and S6 pupils should go to their form class at the normal time in full school uniform. • A Senior Student Induction from SMT will take place during Period 5 in the Small Gym on Monday 6th June for all new S5 and S6 pupils. • Best of luck for all of your exams!
